Summer of Fun(ding): July 2024 Funding Opportunities for Female Entrepreneurs 

Take a break from the summer heat to find the next grant for your business! We chose these opportunities with you in mind. Read on for details about these grants and hopefully find the next funding source to meet your entrepreneurial goals. 

Cadence Cash Thrive Grant: $5,000 

Cadence Cash administers the quarterly Thrive Grant to support small businesses that contribute positively to their communities. In addition to a grant of $5,000, the grant gives businesses access to resources, guidance, and community connections. Businesses must have a demonstrated impact on their community like creating jobs, innovating new products, or making products and services more accessible. The grant places a special emphasis on businesses making a significant impact in underrepresented communities or communities of color. 

There are two more quarterly grants available this year, with applications closing on July 31 for Q3 and October 31 for Q4. 

Accelerator for Enterprising Women Kickstarter Challenge: AU$60,000 

The Accelerator for Enterprising Women supports and empowers female entrepreneurs. The accelerator’s Kickstarter Challenge grants winners AU$60,000 in nondilutive funding. The organization will select five finalists to receive mentoring, media training, and paid travel to Canberra to pitch their business ideas. 

Entries close Friday, 16th August, 5:00 pm AEST. 

Queer to Stay 

Queer to Stay is a collaboration between Paramount, Showtime, and the Human Rights Campaign. The initiative supports LGTBQ+ small businesses, especially those owned by and designed for LGBTQ+ people of color, women and the transgender community. It started as a way to address the financial hardships these businesses faced at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative continues to help these businesses stay open today. Selected businesses receive a one-time taxed donation. 

Applications are open through August 31, 2024. 

Fast Break for Small Business: $10,000 

Accion Opportunity Fund, LegalZoom, the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G-League are collaborating to provide small businesses with grants and LegalZoom services. The program helps entrepreneurs with the tools and resources they need to start and grow their businesses. 150 small businesses will receive $10,000 grants and a LegalZoom product of their choosing. 

Applications close September 13, 2024. 

The High Five Grant for Moms: $1,000-$10,000 

This grant from The Mama Ladder International provides nondilutive funding for mom entrepreneurs. The High Five Grant strives to help female entrepreneurs with kids of any age reach the $1 million revenue mark at their companies. Expecting moms, stepmoms, and foster moms are welcome too. Your business must be earning between $10,000 and $500,000 annually to qualify. The highest grant tier also includes a $1,000 travel voucher and a ticket to attend the 100 Grand Plan Workshop in Salt Lake City to be recognized on stage. 

Applications are open between September 1 and September 30, 2024. 

The Freed Fellowship Grant: $500-$2,500 

The Freed Fellowship Grant program is a monthly small business grant program designed to support underrepresented and overlooked small business owners. Each month, The Freed Fellowship selects one Freed Fellow to receive a $500 no-strings-attached grant. The fellowship then considers fellows are then considered for a $2,500 year-end grant. Applicants receive access to feedback on their business and a two-month free trial of an online mentoring community.

Wish Local Empowerment Program: $500-$2,000 

Online e-commerce platform Wish has dedicated $2 million to support and uplift Black-owned small businesses in America. Selected recipients will receive amounts between $500 and $2000. This program is only open to Black-owned brick-and-mortar stores with 20 or fewer employees and an annual revenue under $1 million.
