Build New Bridges with Our July Lioness Networking! [Event Recording]

Step into the world of Lioness Networking, where connections are made and community flourishes. We’re happy to bring you the highlights of our most recent networking event for female entrepreneurs. During the meeting, attendees had the chance to introduce themselves and their businesses within a tight 15-second time frame. (If you struggle with your elevator pitch, you’ll want to watch these examples!) From the intros alone, it’s clear that Lionesses come from all industries—we brought together experts in branding and executive coaching to goal setting and wellness.

The event featured breakout rooms tailored to specific business struggles, such as marketing, finance and funding, social media or HR and management. These focused discussions allowed participants to delve deeper into their chosen topics, seeking insights and solutions. Following that, random room assignments created a kind of serendipity, as entrepreneurs could build unexpected connections and solve their concerns.

If you want to get involved in our next Community Event, we have an exciting conversation lined up! “Closing the Gender Investment Gap” is a timely discussion of new legislation designed to combat the unequal funding landscape. Check out the full details below!

Closing the Gender Investment Gap

With Amy Spurling | Thursday, August 10th, 2023 | 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. EDT

Amy Spurling Titlecard Lioness

Recognizing the potential of gender diversity on business performance and the existing gender investment gap (hello, less than three percent of venture money funds female founders), we feel that investors need to:

  • Measure and report gender data
  • Diversify their investment teams
  • Implement bias training
  • Create initiatives to support women entrepreneurs

By helping to close the gender investment gap, VCs can help unlock untapped potential, foster innovation and contribute to job creation and economic growth.

There are currently bills pending addressing the investment gender gap in both California and Massachusetts. What can we as female founders do to support these kinds of initiatives? Join us to find out.
