The Struggle Is Real — Candid Intergenerational Conversations On Entrepreneurial Pursuits

Synchronicity brings together five individuals from different generations to tell their story on their struggles in their entrepreneurial pursuits. The event promises to be a night of rich and engaging stories with audience interaction to further the conversation.

HARTFORD, CONN. — On May 31, Upward Hartford will host, “Synchronicity – an intergenerational storyteller event.” Pushing the boundaries of storytelling and the intergenerational movement, Synchronicity brings together five individuals from different generations to tell their story on their struggles in their entrepreneurial pursuits. The event promises to be a night of rich and engaging stories with audience interaction to further the conversation.

Lioness CEO Dawn Leaks will be one of the four storytellers. “You never know just by looking at someone what they’ve gone through and it’s really interesting to hear people tell their stories and the different experiences they’ve had,” Leaks said.

The intergenerational movement exemplifies that whether young or old, we all have something to learn from one another. In the stories of others, we experience commonalities that can help us better understand our own story. Other storytellers include Gabriel Mesa, founder of Mesa Foundry; Caroline Smith, cofounder and codirector of Collab New Haven; and Candace Freedenberg, founder of Untapped Potential Inc.

The event will take place from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Upward Hartford, 20 Church Street in Hartford, Conn. This will be a live recorded podcast with audience interaction. Tickets are $10.

A portion of ticket proceeds will go to support Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter.
