Make48 Hosts QVC Sprouts Live Pitch Event - Lioness MagazineMake48 and QVC are expanding business opportunities for inventors and entrepreneurs during the October Make48 competition at the Kansas City Art Institute with the addition of a QVC Sprouts live pitch event. Local inventors and entrepreneurs can now apply for a chance to pitch their product to QVC, a global leader in video and eCommerce retail.

Make48 will be hosting the QVC Sprouts live pitch event on Oct. 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Inventors and entrepreneurs with a retail-ready product interested in being considered for the live pitch can apply online to become a participant. If selected, participants will have the opportunity to present their products in front of the QVC panel at Make48 for a chance to be selected for the QVC Sprouts Program.

QVC Sprouts is QVC’s ongoing crowd-sourced competition in search of the best up and coming products from inventors and entrepreneurs, giving those with a retail-ready product the opportunity to be sold on QVC. Every two weeks, QVC asks fans to review competing products that have been submitted by inventors and entrepreneurs and selected by QVC, then vote for the ones they would most like to see sold on QVC. Those receiving the most interest are offered the opportunity to be sold on QVC.com and the potential to sell on air during a live QVC broadcast.

“We are thrilled to be able to announce a new facet of the upcoming Make48 competition in partnership with QVC. Hosting a QVC Sprouts live pitch event during the competition will give local inventors in the Kansas City area a unique opportunity to present their products to QVC representatives and potentially see their idea selected for the QVC Sprouts Program,” said Make48 CEO Tom Gray. “A big thank you to QVC for this opportunity and we look forward to seeing the inventions in a few months!”

About Make48

Make48 is the brainchild of a group of Kansas City-based inventors who have been developing and launching products for decades. Their passion for inventing and problem solving led them to seek out fellow inventors they could mentor and help along the path of bringing a product to market. The result was the creation of Make48, where teams apply and compete to develop a new commercial product idea in a 48-hour invent-a-thon weekend. Teams have 48 hours to plan, prototype and pitch a new idea within the specifications of a challenge, revealed at the start of the 48 hours.
