As summer winds down and we prepare for fall, we’ve gathered some of the best grants for you this August. Whether you’re looking to kickstart a new project or boost an ongoing initiative or business, don’t miss out on these top picks before the season ends!
Boundless Futures Foundation – EmpowHer Grants
EmpowHer Grants aims to support female entrepreneurs who are directly solving social issues, making an impact on society. Businesses that can apply for the EmpowHer Grant must address one of the listed social issues through either a product or business model: poverty and hunger, sustainability and the environment or strong communities. These grants are reviewed quarterly and open for the first two months of each quarter respectively. Grant applications for Quarter 3 are open until August 31, 2024.
Galaxy Grants
A new $4,250 Galaxy Grant that is free to enter and is available thanks to Hidden Star, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! All women and minority entrepreneurs are welcome to apply. The deadline is September 30, 2024, with a quick and easy application process.

Blackbaud Social Good Startup Program
Blackbaud’s Social Good Startup Program helps early-stage software companies with innovative solutions to solve problems and benefit their communities. New cohorts start twice a year, and the next and first group of 2025 begins on January 1. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with the goal of accelerating tech. Winners will receive many benefits that will help them take their work to the next level. See more here.
Dynamo Young Business Grants – Keweenaw Bay
The Baraga County Dynamo Grant Program was created to support young businesses in Baraga County by offering up to $5,000 to a for-profit or nonprofit that is within the first 12 months of operations or not yet opened. The goal is to create more jobs in the county while positively impacting the community. To apply, a business plan will need to be submitted and reviewed by the committee to analyze how the funds will be used. Businesses in Baraga County don’t miss this and apply by September 3, 2024.
The Catalyst Fund
The Catalyst Fund offers grants year-round—with values between $2,500 and $15,000—to businesses and projects around the world that have a solid and defined plan with measurable impact. The Fund is also looking for sustainable and community-based organizations that know the needs of the communities they are serving. To date, 47 awards have been made across 19 countries. P Fund Foundation
The P Fund Foundation offers multiple opportunities to support the LGBTQ+ communities through its PRISM program (Promoting Rural Interconnections for Sexual Minorities). The organization works to increase the capacity and connection of rural LGBTQ+. This program offers grants, training and cohort collaboration. Applications are open until September 9, 2024, at 5 pm Central time.
The Bisexual+ Fund offers grants from $1,500-$3,000 for businesses and organizations that support bisexual+ communities in the Midwest. See here for more details on eligibility and requirements!
