Indigenized Energy, a fully Native-owned and Native-led nonprofit, advances solar energy and Tribal sovereignty. The organization announces new leadership hires and promotions that reflect its commitment to Indigenous representation, equity and excellence.
The new Indigenized Energy leadership team
Three accomplished Native women have joined Indigenized Energy’s leadership team, marking a historic milestone at the heart of this announcement.

- Lorilee Morsette joins as Chief Operating Officer, bringing decades of high-level corporate and Tribal leadership experience. An enrolled member of the Suquamish Tribe and Chippewa Cree, Lorilee was born and raised in Rocky Boy, Montana, and most recently served as a corporate officer for a financial firm in New York City. Her blend of cultural insight and business strategy is a powerful asset as Indigenized Energy enters a period of critical growth.
- Mauricia Chavarria, a member of Santa Clara Pueblo (Kha’P’o Owingeh), assumes the role of Chief Financial Officer. With over 24 years of experience in finance, tribal enterprise and public utility operations, Mauricia brings a wealth of knowledge to steward the organization’s financial future. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, as well as executive training from Harvard Business School.
- Indigenized Energy has appointed Serena Romero as its Director of Marketing and Communications. She is an Emmy Award-winning producer and communications strategist. Serena is a member of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. She brings a deep background in storytelling and mission-driven marketing to expand the visibility and impact of Indigenized Energy’s work.
Additional internal promotions
In addition to these key hires, the organization proudly announced three internal promotions that recognize outstanding leadership and dedication.
- The Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin’s Darla Dick now serves as Director of Operations, reflecting her deep commitment to equity and cultural respect.” With years of experience, she has led operational improvements, workforce development and team building. Her compassionate leadership strengthens our mission and supports tribal self-determination through sustainable, community-driven solutions.
- Collins Provost, a member of the Cheyenne River Lakota Tribe, now serves as Chief of Staff after driving impactful, community-centered work across Indigenized Energy. A mother, artist and advocate for cultural preservation, Collins embodies the organization’s values of empowerment and sustainability.
- Shelby Keplin is also playing a critical role in Idigenized Energy’s expansion. She is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians and serves as Tribal Partnerships & Engagement Manager. Shelby builds authentic, respectful relationships with Tribal Nations. She grounds every project in community needs, cultural context and long-term trust.
