Lifetime’s annual all-day holiday programming event — It’s A Wonderful Lifetime — begins this year on Oct. 25 and continues through Dec. 25. It features a holiday special and 30 holiday-themed movie premieres, headlined by stars such as Kelly Rowland, Ashanti, Melissa Joan Hart, Megan Hilty, Vanessa Lachey, Kim Fields, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Hilarie Burton, Marie Osmond, Marla Sokoloff, Soleil Moon Frye, Tatyana Ali, Tiya Sircar and more.
Grammy award winner Ashanti Douglas stars and executive produces Lifetime’s It’s A Wonderful Lifetime Slate with new movie, ‘A Christmas Winter Song.”
Ashanti said she loves Christmas movies. “I just feel like it puts you in the spirit for the entire holiday season … It’s the best feeling to bundle up and snuggle under the covers watching Christmas movies with the fireplace going and decorations all over the house. It’s that special time of year, hanging with family and friends,” Ashanti said.
Ashanti stars as Clio, a Christmas shop owner who forms a special musical bond with Fred (Stan Shaw), a former jazz singer down on his luck. Having just lost her own father, Clio helps Fred reconnect with his own daughter and grandchildren, just in time for the town’s annual Christmas concert. “A Christmas Winter Song” is produced by MarVista Entertainment. Ashanti also serves as executive producer.
Getting involved behind the camera as an executive producer allows her to put an additional stamp on the project. “As a female in this industry it is so important to continue expanding my brand and building an empire not only in music but other ventures as well, so being able to be a part of the film world, both in front of and behind the camera is a blessing,” Ashanti added.
“A Christmas Winter Song” premieres on Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. ET. Additional holiday movies include “Mistletoe & Menorahs” on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. ET, followed by “Christmas Love Letter” on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. and then “A Date by Christmas Eve” on Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. ET.
