May 20, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 amFree
Amherst, MASS., Public speaking expert Cathy McNally is giving a free workshop to women activists who would like to become more effective and confident public speakers. The workshop will be held in the Amherst Room, Jones Library, Amherst on Saturday, May 20, 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. According to McNally, the workshop will offer speaking tips to women who want to inspire and motivate others at rallies, meetings, hearings, or other events.
McNally said she got the idea for the workshop the day after the presidential election. “Like everyone else, I was thinking about what I can do, and since my passion is helping women boost communication skills and confidence, I decided to create a workshop to help women activists do just that.” She said that her mission is to help more women feel ready to speak up and lead others.
According to McNally, the workshop will help women articulate and deliver their message. She will offer strategies to ensure that the speakers are memorable and compelling. She said the workshop will be interactive a so that participants leave with new skills and awareness. With her background in comedy, McNally says she makes sure the participants have fun. McNally says that if there is enough interest in the group, she will offer if regularly.
