“Be curious, not judgemental” – the TV show Ted Lasso is full of little tidbits of wisdom like this. In that spirit, let’s dive into the wild world of popular media with “Pop! On Leadership.” Hosted by Kara Kirby and Virginia Martinez, this podcast explores how pop culture can teach us about leadership and the workplace.
What is the podcast about?
Pop! On Leadership is a podcast that explores leadership lessons and workplace scenarios through the lens of pop culture. Virginia and Kara are two organizational development experts who share their experiences and advice for navigating the corporate landscape. Our first two seasons were dedicated to Ted Lasso, but we also invite guests to further explore topics like the Enneagram, leadership and using positive interventions to improve organizations.
Why should people listen to it? Who is the podcast for?
Our podcast is for anyone who feels like their current work situation does not need to operate at its current complexity, exclusivity or negativity level. Television provides everyone with metaphor and language to discuss change management and leadership in a more positive light – the way it should be. People should enjoy and find fulfillment in their vocation. We hope our listeners enjoy themselves, learn tips for improving their careers and feel more confident in their people’s first approaches, even if the working world around them is telling them something different. Also, if you love shows like Ted Lasso – it’s obviously for you!
Featured episode – Virginia Surprises Kara
We’re not sure everyone realizes that we met over Instagram during the pandemic, and had never met in real life. That is… not until Virginia flew out to North Carolina to surprise Kara for the Ted Lasso Season 3 premier party she was hosting. Of course, Virginia traveled with her microphone. And also of course, Kara booked them an appointment with a local psychic to hear what the future has in store for the podcast.
