Dawn Leaks believes everyone has a God-given purpose in life. Her desire to become an entrepreneur was born in her teens, and in 2015 she became a cofounder, CEO, and resident Life Coach at Lioness, a resource for female entrepreneurs. Lioness educates, elevates and supports female entrepreneurs through a digital magazine, daily news, live events and coaching programs.
Her professional career has included work as the state director of communications at the American Red Cross where she managed public affairs for the organization after the 2011 Springfield tornado and the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. She attended North Carolina A & T State University in Greensboro, NC and earned a B.S. in Business from Bay Path University. She has an MBA in entrepreneurial thinking and innovation as well as a Master’s in Communication and Information Management from Bay Path University and brings that expertise to her professional and volunteer endeavors.
Dawn is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a board member of New England Public Radio Inc. former columnist for African American Point of View, and former board member of the Next Level Development Conference of Women of Color.
She holds coaching and training certifications from The John Maxwell, Dream University, and Leadership Greater Hartford. The coach, and trainer was voted “Top Woman in Life/Business Coaching” by Western MA Women’s Magazine in 2015 and was honored as a member of the 2015 class of Business West Forty Under 40. Dawn resides in Springfield, Massachusetts and is an avid R & B Soul Line Dancer and Neflix watcher.
