Summit Announces Launch Of 2019 Fellowship Program

NEW YORK – Summit, one of the world’s premier ideas festivals with a global community of today’s brightest leaders, announced the launch of their 2019 Summit Fellows initiative. The program provides impact-driven entrepreneurs on the rise with access to a supportive community and dedicated mentorship, designed to accelerate their careers and amplify the impact of their work. In its second year, Summit Fellows will triple its class size to 120 participants. Registration opens today, and runs through July 24.

“We know the Summit community is a powerful vehicle to scale impact, and when we gather to support those positioned for greatness, monumental results occur,” Gabe Quintela, Director of Summit Fellows said, “We can’t wait to see what businesses are funded, relationships are forged, and major global issues are tackled from these connections between Fellows and our network of collaborators, board members, investors, partners and mentors.”

The Summit Fellowship is a two-year program which includes invitations to three key Summit events, where participants can integrate into and exchange ideas with the larger Summit community of over 18,000 members globally. Fellows’ offerings include intimate roundtable conversations with Summit’s main stage speakers, leadership development workshops, introductions to funding opportunities, mentorship connections, and participation in an ongoing curriculum designed by the Summit team.

Through an open online application, Summit selects a group of Fellows who are leaders at the tipping point in their careers, poised to use the Fellowship to significantly advance themselves and their work. Fellows are chosen based on their character and innovative approach to solving a pressing global issue. Summit prioritizes applicants who are not currently connected to networks and resources they may need to advance their work.

Gabe Quintela is the Director of the Summit Fellows program. He immigrated to the U.S. from Brazil when he was a child, founded his first company at 17 years old, and grew it to over 2,000 employees in a few short years. After joining the Summit team and reflecting on how uncommon his experience was as a minority entrepreneur, and how little resources existed for underrepresented founders, Gabe set out on a mission to democratize access to entrepreneurship.

Founded in 2008, Summit has established itself as the preeminent gathering for a multidisciplinary community of leaders who join to connect, gain inspiration and affect positive change in the world. Built on six pillars of programming – Talks, Performances, Wellness, Culinary, Arts and Impact – Summit events have created and hosted a global community. From mountain top weekends at Powder Mountain, Utah and oceanside programming on the beaches of Tulum, to safaris in Kenya and localized community dinners, Summit lives by their mantra of making no small plans.
