Nila Palacios Latin Fashion founder offers words of wisdom for aspiring designers in ‘Fashion with Passion.’
Nila Palacios Latin Fashion has been run by fashion designer and author Nila Palacios for seven years. Based on her experience, Palacios offers aspiring designers a new guide to success in the fashion industry, “Fashion with Passion: A Guide to Succeeding in the World of Design” (published by Partridge Singapore).
“When I started my brand, it was a process that was sometimes fun but mainly involved lots of stress and anxiety,” Palacios says. “I want to help other young fashion designers and entrepreneurs have success without the pains that come when you don’t know the essential cut-throat rules of the business.”
Palacios built her career in fashion from the bottom up. In her new book, she shares her advice so that others may also survive, and even thrive, in the world of design – without learning the hard way like she did.
For Palacios, becoming a fashion designer turned out to be one of the most exciting careers she could have imagined. She shares her reality with aspiring designers in hopes of helping them succeed. She also incorporates need-to-know topics for aspiring designers, like fresh approaches to setting up a brand.
“I hope it will help fashion aspirants visualize the physical truths of starting their own business and snap them back to reality should they become lost in the fantasy world of fashion,” Palacios says. “Fashion students don’t get exposed to the cruel reality of failure and rejection – this book will help them achieve success!”

Nila Palacios was born and raised in Venezuela, where she discovered her passion for fashion. She attended fashion school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After finding her niche market in Southeast Asia, Nila founded a fashion business where she designs Latin American inspired clothes for curvaceous women.
