Virtual Studio Visit: Sobia Ahmad

Fridays this month will offer a new, digital lens to artist studio visits. Halcyon fellows, alumni and studio artists invite you to join them as they share interactive collaborations, discuss how their practice has shifted over the past month, and address how quarantine and self-isolation affect their communities.

Join Halcyon Arts Lab Cohort 3 Fellow Sobia Ahmad for a virtual studio and artist talk to learn more about her unique interdisciplinary practice which maps the various ways the personal and the political overlap. Born and raised in Pakistan, Sobia moved to the United States at the age of 14. By charting her own experiences and community narratives and weaving them with current and historical socio-political contexts, she highlights the inseparability of the self and larger power structures.
