The Nook Brings Women Together To Ignite Dreams And Inspire Others

The brainchild of cofounders Noa Ries and Kim Havens, The Nook Online is a new ‘base camp’ and resource platform for women in business that launched in January 2019. They also host three immersive events throughout the year that provide an opportunity for their online community to connect in person.

Ries and Havens, cofounders of The Nook Online, are both mothers and entrepreneurs who made the lifestyle choice to relocate with their families from bustling urban cities to the outdoorsy oasis that is Sun Valley, Idaho. They realized in the process that the availability of women-led programs and networks for what they refer to as “whole being” (both personal and professional) growth are scant and much needed.

“We believe that by combining intellectual and conversation-led opportunities with the impactful powers of the outdoors, a kind of ‘magic’ can result — the ability of the outdoors to inspire, equalize, dare you and nurture you,” said Ries. “We wanted to help offer that to more women, as an ongoing resource and community that can help create confidence and collaboration because when you inspire and empower a woman, you empower a community; empower enough communities, and you can change the world.”

The Nook Online, in partnership with Inspiring Capital, will present their second in-person event on July 20-21, in Sun Valley titled the Purpose & Power Summit. This all female-powered event will allow women to interact with leaders through hands-on workshops, inspiring speakers and thought-provoking conversations within a community of like-minded women. The event promises takeaways for essential mindset and tools for creating and maintaining a positive personal and professional life.

Each day of the conference will begin with yoga, after which attendees will listen to inspirational women share stories with a focus on personal and professional purpose and power.

Keynote speakers include:

• Dr. Caneel Joyce, PhD Executive Coach and Advisor, Partner in Evolution

• Kristin McGee, Celebrity Yoga and Pilates Instructor

• Shalini Vadhera, Best Selling Author, Serial Entrepreneur, and Mahatma Gandhi Award Winner

• Pirie Jones Grossman, Certified Life Coach, Speaker, Writer and Producer

• Emily Green, Financial Advisor at Ellevest

• Tara Russell, Founding President at Fathom + SVP, Global Impact at Carnival Corporation & PLC.
