Since 80 percent of all travel decisions are made by women, and, since women own about 70 percent of consumer buying power – it’s no surprise that women are driving millions of dollars into the travel industry.  This is why there is a growing trend for creating innovative travel solutions that specifically meet the need of women, especially as many women state that their hotels and amenities looked great online, but in person their facilities were actually a mess (unsafe, dangerous, unclean or just did not measure up to their expectations).

In fact, security and quality rank extremely high for women travellers, many of whom are often traveling by themselves.

Stephenie Rodriguez, an award winning digital marketer, writer is the CEO of startup JOZU For Womenthe first of its kind travel portal exclusively designed for women, helping them to plan and book their leisure and business travel in a better and safer way. According to the company, JOZU offers unique solutions and artificial intelligence features that other travel sites don’t have and that are uniquely designed just for women.

“A woman’s first tool for contemplating travel is no doubt their smartphone. Social media sharing allows for us to get inspired by our favorite travel channel’s daily dose of idyllic sunsets and beautifully styled food from exotic places,” Rodriguez said. “With the help of apps that do everything from currency conversion to language translation and wayfinding, the mobile phone has revolutionized the on trip experience. Tripcase will alert a traveler that their flight is delayed and recommend other flights in real time, and often before the airline has informed the passenger. It will remind you to check in, and give you destination-specific information like weather and traffic, all in a single elegant interface.”

Rodriguez said while other travel agencies like Expedia make booking on a whim easy, and TripAdvisor provides consumer ratings at a glance, a “clean-ish” room in a beachfront property does not guarantee a great vacation. “Men and women experience travel differently. Women are driving holiday purchase decisions 90 percent of the time and are tasked with researching a destination and determining if it is suitable for themselves, their families or travelling companions. Women cite experiences to be the most important element of recall post-vacation. A positive experience is often related to aspects beyond the hotel’s product such as the proximity to amenities like pharmacies, quality interactions amongst the guests, and the overall feeling of general safety/security,” Rodriguez said.

JOZUforWomen.com is on a mission to help women travel better and safer. The platform offers a place for women seeking information on leisure travel to be connected to subject matter experts on specific topics using an artificial intelligence interface named JENI.

Not only can a user find answers to common destination questions, but they can also connect with other like minded female travelers, share their experiences and first-hand reviews, and plan a trip together.

“We believe that we can inspire women to travel more by removing some of the fear of new destinations and create a place for the serendipity of meeting a new friend while on vacation. As a portal with forums exclusively for females, we will enable women to speak freely and find frank and honest answers about where to stay, eat, and enjoy holiday breaks,” she added.
