NATASHA: Who is your entrepreneur crush?
KATHRYN: Oprah. This amazing woman built a media empire all by herself from scratch, back during the days when diversity as a buzzword hadn’t even been coined yet.
NATASHA: What is your favorite website to consume news?
KATHRYN: Nymag.com is probably my guilty pleasure- with Buzzfeed a close second.
NATASHA: Name one book that blew your socks off?
KATHRYN: 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
NATASHA: What is one startup on the rise that you love?
KATHRYN: All our FOCUS Fellows’ companies (Zuvaa, Mercaris, etc.) are like my children– I can’t play favorites!
NATASHA: One tip for pitching to investors?
KATHRYN: Know how you’re going to make money.
NATASHA: Favorite Prince song?
KATHRYN: I’m from Minneapolis, (too). Controversy or Pop Life or Kiss.
