Book Of The Week – Emotional Edge

Our Book of the Week is coming from Crystal Andrus Morissette who has been a homeless teen, a survivor of abuse, a competitor for Miss Galaxy and more.

Book of the Week - Emotional Edge - Lioness MagazineCrystal Andrus Morissette has been many things—a homeless teen, a survivor of abuse, a competitor for Miss Galaxy, 220 pounds and a coach to celebrities. Now, she is teaching women all over the globe to take charge of our stories, love all our parts and redefine ourselves as whole, healthy and empowered with her new book, “The Emotional Edge: Discover Your Inner Age, Ignite Your Hidden Strengths and Reroute Misdirected Fear to Live Your Fullest.”

She is also the founder of the S.W.A.T. Institute (Simply Woman Accredited Trainer), a healing and empowerment coaching certification exclusively for women that she created with some of today’s strongest female voices such as Louise Hay, Marianne Williamson, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Colette Baron-Reid and Sandra Anne Taylor.

Morissette helps women identify which Emotional Age they are operating from when participating in the different areas of their lives: health, body image, parenting, love life, sex life, relationships, income and career. All these areas of your life are reflective of your Emotional Age.

We each have a Dominant Emotional Archetype within us: The Parent archetype, The Child archetype and The Adult archetype. When it comes to women, we can look at these in terms of Mother Energy, Daughter Energy and Woman Energy:

  • Mother = safety, selflessness, protective, nurturing
  • Daughter = coy, cute, dramatic, full of life, somewhat selfish
  • Woman = Do we even have an archetype for the word “woman?”

“I want the word ‘woman’ to become an archetype that requires no further explanation; to be a clearly defined image so that we no longer have to search fruitlessly for possibilities and role models. This will serve men, too!” says Morissette .
